As we go into November it is acceptable to be thinking about Christmas and the gifts we might give. Unlike the Wise Men who gave valuable but impractical gifts or the shepherds whose gifts were useful but maybe a little inappropriate for a baby boy, CHI can help you give useful gifts, whilst at the same time helping you to avoid the High Street crowds and save money on gift wrapping and sticky tape!
By visiting the CHI gift shop here on the website and choosing gifts for those in need in Africa, and letting your friends and loved ones know that money has been gifted on their behalf to support families and churches in Rwanda and Uganda, you can rest assured that this year’s gifts are very eco-friendly, having kept your carbon footprint low and wrapping paper out of the recycling bins!
(If ordering on-line, please remember to choose your gift wallets).
Solar lamps are a popular gift at £10 each and as Mr Ndayisenga Wellars tells us “Before we resorted to candles which were expensive and not clean.
From the day we were given solar lamps, our children easily have been reviewing their studies in the evenings and we adults can take time to read the Bible.

Bibles are another treasured gift, and again at £10 each are very reasonably priced!

You can contribute towards vocational training courses such as Tuyisenge William has attended at Kageyo VTC, he has been learning to weld.. ‘During my time at the VTC, I was able to learn on how to weld and make different items for example am now very much able to make doors, windows and other metallic items. The skills I have acquired will be used in when I reach in the community to create my own jobs. I will be a job creator which am sure will help in improving my standards of living. I will also teach the other young youth about the skills that I have a thing that I know very well that shall be a great contribution to the community’.

Calling all those who crochet and knit for us ….
We are very sad to announce that Christian Hope /Stitches of Hope will no longer be collecting knitted items to help those in need in Eastern Europe. We have compiled a list of charities who still need knitting so please ring the office if you would like to receive a copy. The needs have changed in Eastern Europe and coupled with our need to move premises, our ability to continue to support this mission is no longer viable. We thank you so much for your loyal support over the years.
