We are thrilled to be able to tell you a little bit more about Helen Yousaf, who has been patron of CHI since 2023. Introduced to our charity through a friend, Helen visited us to learn more about our mission and felt inspired to get involved. Since then, she has been a passionate advocate for CHI among her followers.
Helen, lives in Romford and is a devoted mother of two girls, Abbie and Olivia, and has been married to Shakeel Yousaf for 20 years. Helen's journey of faith began at 15 when she joined Ilford Elim Church.
A Heart for Worship and Service
Helen Yousaf is a dedicated Christian and gifted artist, with a heart for prophetic worship and evangelism. Over the years, Helen has developed a unique ministry, often singing new songs received through divine inspiration, which has resonated with both believers and non-believers alike. Helen often travels as part of Elim's ministry, bringing encouragement and hope through her music and art.
She has several albums which you can find on all the main streaming platforms.
Artistic Expression as a Ministry
In addition to her musical talents, Helen discovered her gift for painting later in life. Initially focused on music, she later discovered herself able to paint the images she dreamt of, creating pieces that brought comfort and healing to those in distress. Her paintings became a source of encouragement, especially for people in hospitals and those suffering from emotional issues.
Celebration and Support
As we mark the significant milestone of our 30th anniversary, Helen Yousaf is orchestrating two unforgettable events in June for the benefit of CHI. These gatherings promise to be more than mere fundraisers—they are celebrations of hope, faith, and creativity.
Worship Concert

Art Auction
Attendees at the concert will also have the opportunity to bid on an original piece of art painted by Helen for CHI (see below work in progress).
Paint & Sip
Unleash your inner artist! This event promises fun and creativity, set to the backdrop of feel-good music. Each art party is unique, adapting to the gathering's vibe. Participants can follow a demonstration creating this lion, or create their own art using the provided materials. Some people complete two pieces, but others focus diligently on one.
Helen's dedication to her faith and her artistic talents make her a wonderful ambassador for CHI. She and her band are generously donating their time and talents for these events, with all proceeds going to support the vital work that is done through CHI in the Lord’s name and for His glory.
